Summary:

The Institute for Achievement and Learning is looking for a part-time writing/reading tutor. This position requires that the candidate has a master’s degree, is proficient in how to teach the writing process, and should also be familiar with using both MLA and APA formatting. Experience in teaching writing, English or some form of Education back ground would be preferable.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Check Canvas program prior to tutoring appointments to best prepare for tutoring session.
• At the end of the tutoring session, enter tutoring session data on the IAL database Navigate.
• Work with students' academic coach for additional information on student to assist in tutoring.
• At the request of the Tutoring Center Director or Coordinator, make additional calls.
• Access latest weekly tutoring schedule to determine names of students and subjects to be tutored. Determine subject instructors.
• Attend monthly tutor meetings for training and to discuss specific student needs.
• Use subject material and develop strategies needed to assist student.
• When necessary, act as a reader/scribe.
• Enhance tutoring ability by learning additional subjects

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Programs

• Master’s degree required

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
