Professional Tutor Jobs

Tutors students in the area of academic success skills (e.g. learning strategies, time management, etc.)

Experience working with college students in entry-level through advanced accounting and finance courses

Experience with teaching/tutoring students with various learning styles and abilities

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field of study

Experience with teaching, professional tutoring or other related experience

Tutors students on specific course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Helping students improve their writing skills and their ability to identify and correct their own errors

Ability to assess and communicate mathematical knowledge effectively to students

Experience tutoring college level basic math, algebra, and statistics

Experience tutoring individual students and groups

Tutors students on specific course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments

Coordinates tutoring goals with advisers, academic counselors and faculty to effectively meet student needs

Impart knowledge of academic conventions: syntax, grammar, usage, punctuation, spelling, mechanics, and capitalization

Support ESL students in developing and enhancing their English skills in reading and writing

Teach students the skills needed for effective oral presentations

Experience tutoring in a college writing center, and/or experience working as a college English/Writing instructor

Experience working with ESL students is preferred

Promote definable learning strategies which promote academic success and independent learning;

Aid in college-wide efforts to promote retention through student academic success and student engagement within the NEC community;

Assist with training and overseeing peer (student) tutors;
