About this role…
As a Professional Learning Consultant, you will draw upon your significant expertise and experience in facilitation and coaching to accelerate and deepen the acquisition and application of adult learning, develop skills, and coordinate methodologies and system-wide organizational practices to improve student growth. You will work with our partners to develop, coordinate, and deliver professional development plans that ensure deep use of assessment data to drive performance and outcomes at all stakeholder levels. In addition, you will work collaboratively with other teams within HMH and provide leadership and mentorship for other Professional Learning Consultants and Facilitators. Facilitate planning, scheduling, resource allocation, implementation, and progress monitoring with partners leading to planning and prioritizing work that is aligned with the goals established that will lead to successful implementation.
Provide virtual and in-person professional learning as partners implement HMH’s NWEA line of products, services, and solutions.
Quickly and decisively act in changing situations with partners and within the organization.
Deliver messaging in a clear, compelling, and concise manner while actively listening to check for understanding including but not limited to establishing and maintaining contact with partners, particularly complex partners, to gather qualitative and quantitative data to inform professional development design and delivery.
Model collaboration across the organization, balancing own interests with internal stakeholders.
Effectively manage complex consulting scenarios and schedules.
Promote a team environment with partners and within the organization that values encourages, and supports differences that will help determine needs, values, and motivators.
Maintain composure with a positive attitude and growth mindset in stressful situations.
Partner with key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes, while sharing in ownership for attaining partner goals.
Skillfully navigates between professional stances (e.g. consultative, coaching, facilitating, presenting)
Maintain documentation to support all necessary processes for scheduling, sharing information across the organization, etc.
Demonstrate proficiency in using a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop a deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways
Engage learners to connect concepts to authentic local, and global challenges
Leverage individual differences, diverse cultures, and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that enable each learner to meet high standards. Ability to travel regionally and nationally (requires about 70% travel). Traits for success…
Exceptional relationship-building skills with proven ability to coach, and consult with organizational leaders, school leadership teams, instructional coaches, educators, and other key stakeholders that lead to impactful results.
Ability to represent HMH/NWEA as a professional ambassador in our competitive market
Ability to adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
Solid understanding of educational systems and structures within the current education environment
Superior writing and proofing skills and producing thorough and complete documentation in a timely manner
Technology skills in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business software connected to our work
Seek and act positively on feedback from a variety of sources.
Honor commitments and keep confidence, gaining the trust of others.
Ability to organize time effectively, determine priorities, and move work forward
Proven track record of skillfully navigating difficult internal and external conversations in order to move all partners forward

Education and Experience…
Master’s degree in Education or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered in lieu of Master’s degree ( required ).
Minimum three years of experience facilitating professional learning, coaching school leaders, and/or consulting using data to inform decision-making ( required ).
Experience in developing and implementing professional learning plans for large, complex school districts and systems (preferred).
Experience with NWEA products and services like MAP Growth, and MAP Reading Fluency.
Experience with K – 2 literacy and or knowledge of the Science of Reading.
Minimum of five years experience working with School, State, and District leadership teams ( preferred ).
ELL, ESL, bi-lingual or dual language education experience is a definite plus.
Salary range 65k - 70k
