Do you want to impact educators and institutions around the globe? At McGraw Hill, our Product Designers - Digital create materials that will inspire learners at all levels. McGraw Hill is seeking a K-12 Product Designer to help us create next generation digital learning experiences for our K-12 Science program. We’re looking for someone who can develop innovative solutions, brainstorm, and translate high-level visions into compelling print and digital experiences. This is currently a remote position, and the role will be filled as a 12-month contract.
What you will be doing:

• Advocating for the user throughout product development.
• Ensuring delivery and multiple production hand-offs within a strategic initiative.
• Developing concepts into visually engaging designs that appropriately align with and extend product strategy and goals.
• Developing the design rationale and explaining visual choices to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
• Creating digital prototypes and mockups for user testing and product development.

We’re looking for someone with...

• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual sensibilities, compelling ideas, and a thorough understanding of design process.
• Experience with Interaction Design, new media design, HCI, or related field is desired.
• Experience creating wireframes as well as visual design comps.
• A BA or formal design degree.
• Knowledge of usability and coding practices for accessibility.
• 2+ years of experience with web + print design, and technology development with specific expertise with web-based applications.
• Strong working knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Fluency with web standards and technologies, including CSS, HTML.
