  • Provides advice, guidance, direction, and authorization for implementation of tactical and strategic plans and procedures consistent with established organizational policies and Board approvals, as required.
  • Energetic, forward thinking and creative leader with high ethical standards and professional image consistent with KDMC’s standards.
  • Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization; i.e. evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers and allocation of resources. Achieves and maintains strong financial health of the organization.
  • Works with our State and locally elected officials to meet the needs of our healthcare system.
  • Evaluates performance of executives assessing personal contributions to the success of the organization and achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Working Environment
    • The work environment is in an office/Medical Center setting
    • This position requires occasional travel to off-site locations
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually low

  • Education/License/Certification/Other Requirements
      Minimum requirement:
      • Bachelor's degree required.
      • Over ten years of experience in s hospital or health system setting.

      • Strategic visionary with sound analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
      • Energetic, forward thinking and creative leader with high ethical standards and professional image consistent with KDMC’s standards.
      • Demonstrated success in leading and retaining a high performing leadership team; strong ethics with a commitment to quality, integrity and reliability, ability to readily adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change.
      Preferred qualifications:
      • Master's (MBA, MHA) in HealthCare Administration, Business or related field.
  • Serves, motivates, mentors and provides direction to a strong, team-oriented Senior Leadership Team. This group is results-oriented and meets weekly to discuss and review business and people strategies, customer satisfaction and quality of care outcomes, policies and operating performance for KDMC and its affiliated organizations.
  • Physical Demands
    • Regularly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer, while in meetings or while presenting to groups.
    • Frequently required to move about inside the office and Medical Center while rounding on departments.
    • Regularly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers.
    • Regularly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
    • Frequent stress related to level of responsibility, regulatory issues and deadlines
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Drives the organization to achieve established short- and long-range goals and objectives which align to and support UK's vision and strategic plan. The CEO will develop strong partnerships within UK, UKHC and with the external stakeholders.
    • Routinely exercises sound judgment. Displays willingness to make timely decisions.
    • Through department leaders and Senior Leadership Team, plans business objectives, approves organizational policies, coordinates functions and operations between divisions and departments, and establishes responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
