Wallin’s program focused for many years on low-income students attending a four-year degree path, and
most scholars are enrolled in four-year colleges in the upper Midwest as well as across the nation at
HBCUs. In 2019, Wallin launched a new pathway for students interested in two-year degrees at
community colleges in Minnesota. This program, called Opportunity Pathways, provides two-year
scholarships, comprehensive advising support, and access to a system of partnerships helping scholars
connect to internships and work opportunities.

Wallin Education Partners believes that systemic problems require holistic solutions. Its comprehensive
support is designed to address both systemic barriers and individual needs so every scholar can rise.
FINANCIAL AID
Wallin scholars receive financial aid spread across their time in school. The organization carefully
leverages its funding to make sure scholars have what they need to succeed in college.
INDIVIDUALIZED ADVISING
Wallin scholars are part of a proven support system. Students are connected with a full-time, professional
advisor who addresses each student’s unique needs and challenges.
EXPANDED ACCESS
Wallin scholars receive access to career and community opportunities through an expansive network of
partners, and Wallin leverages its relationships so scholars have a portfolio of opportunities to rise.

Position Profile: Wallin Education Partners | President and CEO
The Role
Wallin Education Partners’ President and CEO provides strategic and operational leadership and vision
to the Wallin organization. The President works tirelessly to advance Wallin’s mission and strategy while
serving as a trusted collaborator with partner organizations. They serve as a key voice and thought
leader on issues related to equity in education.
The President and CEO will oversee Wallin’s services, programs, finances, budgeting, administration,
development, brand, external partnerships, and outreach in the community. The President will guide the
continued growth and development of Wallin to meet the needs of all scholars, acting as a thought
leader and to ensure college and career success for high potential students from low-income
backgrounds.
R E P O R T I N G R E L A T I O N S H I P S
The Wallin President and CEO will report to the Wallin Board of Trustees and will have oversight of
approximately forty full-time staff members. The President and CEO will have five direct reports,
including the following:
- Deputy Director
- Director of Scholar Programs
- Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives
- Director of Finance
- Director of Scholar Selection

The President and CEO of Wallin Education Partners will be responsible for the organization’s strategic
and operational leadership with both internal and external audiences. Key roles and desired
accountabilities include the following:
Strategic Leadership
• Dream big about the role that Wallin can play in ensuring full college access and scholar
success within the future landscape of higher education.
- Lead with bold vision and purpose, providing inspiration and strategic direction to team.
- Provide leadership and framework to develop/implement strategic goals and objectives to best

Team Leadership
- Recruit and retain a talented and diverse team through equitable practices, competitive
- Serve as a cultural steward for Wallin in an ever-changing workplace; define and direct actions

- Inspire Wallin staff to drive the mission through collaborative, open, and respectful
- Align the senior leadership team and ensure the organization is both inclusive and innovative.
Fundraising and Revenue Development
- Serve as a fundraising leader, ensure financial strength to support future growth and

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Expected salary for this role is in the $185,000-$250,000 range, commensurate with experience and
