Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for the role, PLANT MANAGER.
JOB TITLE: Plant Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
This position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
- Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Cooperates with management team in formulating and establishing company policies and operating procedures.
- Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
- Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures.
- Directs and manages plant operations for production, scheduling, maintenance, quality, engineering, and shipping and receiving.
- Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and Supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
- Provides direction, development, and leadership to production supervisor.
- Leads, evaluates, coaches and trains manufacturing personnel.
- Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions.
- Develops and controls profits, plans, and budget.
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Incorporates shop floor organization and plan cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment.
- Demonstrates ethical leadership qualities in the improvement of Safety, Quality, and Cost and Delivery performance measures for the facility.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer candidates with a BA/BS in Business Administration or related degree; or four to ten years related experience and/or training in relevant industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The type of experience required to effectively perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this position are:
- A minimum of 5 (five) years in progressive commercial foodservice, or industry related assignments is required.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, work under pressure with challenging deadlines while delivering high quality results.
- A minimum of 3 (three) years supervisory/management experience required.
- Demonstrable ability to apply strategic vision to an organization.
- Understanding of manufacturing industry processes and procedures with hands on experience.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and 5S processes.
- Well-developed knowledge of the injection and rotational manufacturing methods a plus.
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- Up to 10% travel, in support of corporate initiatives
