Physician Assistant - Orthopedics Clinic

The physician assistant in orthopedics will assist in medical care of orthopedic department patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting as outlined in the Principal Duties and Responsibilities below and will participate in all aspects of patient care as indicated. The P.A. will also have direct reporting responsibility to the Attending Physician of the respective patients for all evaluations and other duties performed.

What You'll Do:

• Provide routine medical management of inpatient care including ordering of diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, medications (within the scope of the PA license) and nutrition, managing adjunctive care.
• Maintains an average of four days per week of clinic availability during posted hours.
• Attend outpatient clinic and participates in initial evaluation and longitudinal care.
• Initiate appropriate emergency care in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
• Complete individual daily rounds and documentation of the plan of care on all inpatients per plan with Attending Physician.
• Provide pre-and post-operative patient education to patients and their families.

Qualifications:

• DEA license required.
• Three years experience in inpatient and outpatient care required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
• State of California Physician Assistant License required.

Job Information:

• Full-time position, working in both the Mammoth and Bishop locations.
