Surgical Physician Assistant Jobs

We are looking for a responsible Physician Assistant to support a group of orthopedic surgeons in the operating room. We are busy group that would love a surgical assist part time, working usually Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. This allows for flexibility in your schedule, and the opportunity to do other surgical assisting or patient care when not in the operating room. Ideally, you would be responsible only for time when the surgeons are busy, and free to do other things on non-surgery days. This is the perfect job for someone looking for free time during the work week. There is no call or weekend responsibilities currently.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for the patients
• Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures
• Provide therapeutic treatments (disinfecting wounds, stitching etc.)
• Assisting in the operating room for an orthopedic surgeon. If inexperienced we will teach you what you need to know !
• Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards
• Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
• Provide help during surgeries
• Collaborate effectively with team members of various specializations

Skills

• Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
• BSc/MA in Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science or Medical Science
• Team player with good communication skills
• Familiarity with advancements in medical technology and current know-how
• Proven work experience as a physician assistant - a California license is a requirement.
• Caring and compassionate
