Marbles Kids Museum is a vibrant, nonprofit children’s museum and IMAX Theatre located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. The Opportunity


Marbles Kids Museum is seeking a motivated and organized People Manager (HR Manager) to join our team! The People Manager is a key contributor to the overall lifecycle of an employee, responsible for executing routine people functions including but not limited to hiring, interviewing, onboarding team members, and implementing organizational policies and practices.


Job Responsibilities


  • Analyzes recruitment trends; researches and proposes suggestions that will attract and retain top talent.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date new hire onboarding, training, and orientation.
  • Administers people programs in collaboration with the Director of People.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other team members when people-related questions and issues arise.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in people resources, talent management, and employment law and applies to new or updates policies and procedures.
  • Aids Director of People in planning, leading, developing, coordinating, and implementing policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s people compliance and strategy needs.
  • Collaborates with Marbles senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting retention, and succession planning.
  • Supports the Director of People in organizing and supporting department professional development, training, and certification activities.
  • Monitors and ensures Marbles compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and manage Marbles work-study and intern programs including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of qualified applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.


Ideal Experience And Skill Set


  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and team members.
  • Respectful and approachable, with high standards of confidentiality and personal integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems (Namely, JazzHR, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High-quality organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of human resource management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
