Job Summary: Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Manager of People & Culture, is a day-to-day business partner to management and staff. The Senior Manager will have direct involvement in various People and Culture functions, including recruitment, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, retention, internal communications, and career development.


What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise the Recruiter.
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts, bringing them to resolution.
  • Partner with the leadership team to organize and host all staff meetings and all-staff retreats.
  • Manage all employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability, wellness, retirement plans, EAP, along with FMLA and other leaves of absence.
  • Oversee the development of strategy and the adoption of practices that improve staff engagement and organizational culture.
  • Assist with the organization's Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity strategic planning, providing guidance on special initiatives and learning opportunities.
  • Advise leadership, staff managers, and/or employees on complex human resource issues.
  • Provide HR metrics, data analysis, reports, and interpretation. Ensure data integrity and maximum functionality of HRIS.
  • Organize, coordinate, and direct special project development and implementation.
  • Ensure HR processes and practices are in place to mitigate risk for the organization.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Create and maintain an up-to-date compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Design and maintain performance management processes to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities and excel professionally.
  • Provide guidance and support for employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and administer HR policies, procedures, employee manuals, and forms.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and best practices to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with state regulations and company policy.
  • Partner with the organization’s leadership team to understand and execute the human resources and talent strategy, as it relates to current and future talent needs including hiring, onboarding, retention, and succession planning.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.


What You’ll Need:

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be tactical and strategic; willing to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and be a self-starter who works with integrity.
  • An influential communicator who can build strong team bonds and generate commitment and enthusiasm in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain composure when facing change or working under pressure.
