About The Role


Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the People & Culture Business Partner ensures the alignment between business operations and HR practices and objectives. They will bring their consulting and coaching experience to effectively support departmental leaders and managers in aligning their team with Business Wire’s vision, mission, and overall goals. They are expected to be familiar with domestic and international employment law and must be able to demonstrate their ability to handle employee relations matters. In addition, they will effectively operate across the full range of P&C disciplines and support policy creation and process implementations.


What You'll Do


  • Provide partnership on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning for managers
  • Review domestic and international contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, and partner with external legal counsel as needed
  • Support managers in identifying development needs for business units based on current department trends and performance
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the P&C group to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations when necessary
  • Annually review and update country-specific handbooks and policies
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to employee inquiries
  • Perform other People & Culture related duties as assigned to support overall departmental objectives
  • Conduct regular manager meetings with respective business units and act as the primary consultant, providing P&C guidance when needed
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and improve retention
What You'll Need


  • Credential or Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management or other related field preferred. SHRM or PHR Certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and international, federal and state respective employment laws
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Proven experience supporting international teams
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The base salary range for this position is $100K to $120K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
