Job Description
Payroll/Hr Administrator Job Purpose
Nikon Metrology is seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Payroll/ HR Administrator to be responsible for all payroll tasks, conducting new hire onboarding and benefits administration/processing.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
  • Handle and maintain confidential information
  • Track all employee healthcare costs
  • Collaborate with HR and EVP office to ensure timely and accurate funding of post-payroll processing such as H.S.A. disbursements, 401-k benefits, and other required payments
  • Setup and maintain employee’s voluntary/involuntary deductions, to include all garnishments, 401K, and other approved deductions as applicable
  • General Ledger entry and reconciliation
  • Processes benefit enrolments and terminations
  • Reconcile monthly healthcare benefits bills, vendor bills
  • Conducts a segment of new hire onboarding and employee off onboarding, including but not limited to background checks, HRIS system set-up, i9 verification, orientation, training set-up and exit letters
  • Full-cycle payroll processing, accurately and timely, in compliance with federal and state regulations and company policy
Ancillary Responsibilities
  • Acts as liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations
  • File and assist with organization of confidential HR files
  • Assist with employee onboarding including new hire orientation meeting, benefits presentation, signed policy verification and Form I9 verification including data input into E-Verify
  • Manage administration of vacation and sick time for employees in ADP Workforce Now. Assist employees with any related inquiries
  • All other tasks assigned, as necessary
  • Under the direction of the HR Manager, ensure that employment actions meet federal and state legislation requirements
  • Keep employee files in order and compliant with company processes
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
  • Knowledge and proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS/Payroll system
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll and tax laws
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of human resources principles, legal and regulatory requirements related to human resources policies and practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
  • Ability to track and report data as needed
  • 3 + years’ experience of multi-state payroll processing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Accounting oriented skills, good math skills, data entry
  • Excellent Computer skills
DESIRABLE
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) and or SHRM Certification
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now
  • Accounting oriented skills

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to gain and hold the confidence of departments served in the company
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of US employment law
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
  • May require lifting 15 pounds or more
  • This position requires several hours of sitting and viewing a computer screen
