The Opportunity

This role is on a hybrid schedule/ includes in office and partial work from home

The Payroll Manager directs, administers, and coordinates all payroll related activities with HR and Payroll Vendors. This roll will report to the Director of Employee Care with limited supervision. You will frequently interact with other internal and external partners on specific processes, related activities or more sophisticated tasks under limited supervision. You may also interact with Ally Senior Leadership.

The Work Itself

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and other projects as assigned.
  • Ensure Time Reporting is complete, accurate and timely for submission to vendor
  • Assist with the monitoring of Service Delivery Levels from major payroll vendors
  • Oversee Year End Payroll Processes with vendor
  • Create and maintain payroll timekeeping and problem resolution desk procedures
  • Monitor Payroll processing
  • Assist with payroll tax related activities related to employees and company reporting
  • Create and Maintain ad-hoc reports and queries needed by staff and management
  • Coordinated Communicate inter-company funding activities related to payroll and benefit expense

The Skills You Bring

  • Strong critical thinking, customer service and responsiveness skills required
  • Ability to communicate issues and portray complex accounting functions in a manner understandable to non-finance partners.
  • 5+ years payroll experience, some management experience required
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills
  • Workday Payroll experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Previous SAP knowledge, strongly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience
