A day in the life of a Payroll Accounting Specialist:

As the Payroll Accounting Specialist you will manage the day to day payroll processes and activities, ensuring transactions are executed appropriately and timely, as well as be the payroll liaison for all of the Hexagon US Federal employees.

Duties could include and are not limited to:

• Manage day-to-day communication with Human Resources regarding new hire, terminations, and employee transfers
• Review and process weekly labor corrections
• Preparation of monthly journal entries
• Manage employee information within Costpoint and ADP
• Provide reports, schedules, and other supporting documentation for external audits
• Ad hoc reporting as needed
• Develop and maintain a filing system for financial information and documents
• Perform General Ledger payroll related account reconciliations in support of month-end and year-end reporting
• Other duties as assigned
• Liaison with ADP for the Hexagon US Federal payroll accounts
• Manage weekly timesheets submissions for timeliness and accurate approvals
• Import and export timesheets information as needed within Deltek Costpoint and Time & Expense
• Manage leave balances and accruals for employees
• Create wire request to ADP for the bi-weekly payroll and third-party benefit administrators

This job is for you if you:

• Are an energetic and team-oriented accountant with experience in payroll functions. The candidate must be dependable, action oriented, possess a high degree of integrity and trustworthiness in handling confidential information and have excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have general and payroll accounting experience:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Data Entry
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Confidentiality
• Labor related Federal and State tax reporting
• Deltek Costpoint Labor, Leave, Time & Expense
• General Ledger Reconciliation
• ADP Enterprise or Workforce Now
• Government Contracting Knowledge
• Detail and Deadline Oriented
• Preparation of monthly journal entries

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, related field, or related experience
• 3-5 years accounting experience with 2-3 years of payroll accounting experience
• Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Excel and advanced within analytical analysis
