Job Summary: Performs advanced professional accounting activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ensures or evaluates compliance and accountability of financial programs and business operations/processes. May supervise or lead lower level professional accountants and other staff.
Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for the financial aspects of the UA Museums including but not limited to adherence to established permanent and temporary funding, adherence to all UA Accounting policies, adherence to all UA Office for Sponsored Programs policies (including those outlined in the US Office of Management and Uniform Guidance); adherence to all UA Student Account Services cash and credit card handling policies. Reporting to the Executive Director of UA Museums, this position works with a team of directors to facilitate efficient, sound business practices.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and two (2) years of professional accounting experience; OR CPA and two (2) years of professional accounting experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Accounting experience in museums and/or higher education is desirable.
