Shriners Children's Ohio has an opening for a Patient Access Representative. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours This full-time position is Monday - Friday, 830 am - 500 pm.

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for check-in and check-out duties, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, coordinating schedules with the clinic and physicians, as well as faxing, making copies, filing and reviewing and responding to department emails. Additional responsibilities include conducting new patient intake process (diagnostic review, data collection and entry, appointment coordination, and follow-up). Also involved with coordination of new patient referrals, collection of legal documentation necessary to initiate treatment, coordinating the eligibility and availability of patient’s insurance status with insurance provider in order to ensure applicable coverage.


Education


High School diploma or GED


Experience / Skills


1 year experience in patient scheduling, registration and intake (referrals) required


Knowledge of Cerner Millennium or EPIC preferred


Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Word


Excellent customer service and phone skills


Other

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Computer Operator at our International Data Center location.


The Computer Operator monitors the computer operations processes and ensures that all batch processing, system backups and scheduled work is completed when required. The Computer Operator identifies computer operations issues, system abnormalities, and coordinates corrective action with other areas of IDC personnel including VMS, Citrix and Oracle network specialists or as directed by the Computer Operations Supervisor. The Computer Operator updates operations documentation as directed. Monitors the IDC building operations including security, backup power and communications systems, utilities, delivery, etc. The Computer Operator works with HQ and hospital personnel to document and resolve computing issues, provides assistance with PC related hardware and software systems used by SHC, and logs and identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users.


The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 100PM - 900PM Eastern Time.


Position Responsibilities


  • Operates and monitors computer equipment; Ensure that batch jobs and system backups complete as scheduled; Maintain computer operations documentation including special instructions, system operation, troubleshooting procedures, user contacts, operations logs, etc.; Identify, resolve or escalate system resource contention issues; Identify system abnormalities and malfunctions initiating corrective action or escalating as necessary; Maintain various control logs as necessary; Assist with installation, configuration, testing, tuning and upgrading of computer systems as directed; Assist with asset management and tracking. - 80%
  • Monitor backup power and communications systems; Monitor building security provisions as necessary. - 15%
  • Work with HQ and hospital personnel to document and resolve computing issues; Provides assistance with PC related hardware and software systems used by SHC. - 5%


Experience Required/Preferred


  • 2 years of computer operations experience required
  • 2 years of VMS, Citrix and Oracle training and "hands-on" experience preferred


Education Required/Preferred


  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Associate's in Computer Science or related field preferred
