Job Title: Pastry Chef, June’s & Neighborhood Sushi

Reports to: Executive Chef, MML Executive Team

Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt-Salary

Essential Functions and Duties:

The Pastry Chef is responsible for menu development, quality control, cost control, inventory, hiring, and training. In addition to the daily production of pastry items, they will be managing/directing the pastry assistant and related parties for the execution of all pastry items at the restaurant.

What we are looking for:

  • Other job duties as assigned.
  • Preparing operational reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and making appropriate recommendations
  • Food Cost control in partnership with Executive Chef
  • Hourly Labor Cost Control in partnership with Executive Chef
  • Order products needed for production and maintain an inventory with both food cost and product quality in mind.
  • Create a positive work environment and continue to train staff and broaden skillsets.
  • Oversee pastry production for the restaurants ensuring quality from procurement, and production to execution daily to ensure successful, delicious, consistent, and profitable services.
  • Supervisory responsibilities will include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Pastry Cooks.
Requirements:


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with Google Drive & Excel
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience is considered.
  • At least 2 years of pastry chef experience is required.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
