Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Center of Excellence in Women's Health is recruiting a Research Assistant (RA) to assist on multiple grant funded projects aimed at improving cancer outcomes through patient navigation. The RA will join an interdisciplinary team of investigators from around Boston.
The RA's work will include administering questionnaires, abstracting medical records, maintaining patient databases, running reports, performing administrative tasks, assisting in grant preparation, performing literature searches, and working with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. They may also assist in preparing and writing presentation materials or manuscripts and other publication materials

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Produces charts and tables for manuscripts, grants and presentations.
  • Organizes timing, creates agenda, and participates in staff meetings/initiatives including internal and external meetings.
  • Prepares and maintains Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and correspondence, including amendments and renewals as necessary.
  • Obtains and distributes payment vouchers for participant reimbursements/participation.
  • Assists team with aspects of quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods research including study design, data collection, data management, and analysis; provides feedback on study's progress.
  • Responsible for the administrative aspects of the research study, including: managing program records and handling communication needs of the program.
  • Assist Investigators with manuscript and presentation preparation and research.
  • Responsible for all other administrative duties related to research activities.
  • Assists with a variety of data management procedures and quality control measures. (e.g., data entry, producing basic reports, data cleaning, database maintenance).

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree is required. Major in a field related to the research highly preferred.
Master's degree students (MPH) encouraged to apply.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
None required.
EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years of experience and have demonstrated sound independent judgement and competencies in research methodologies.
Experience with recruiting subjects, with an understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Must exercise strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail and an ability to build rapport with professional from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to perform basic data management tasks (coding, data entry, data cleaning, retrieval).
  • Experience in clinical research, public health, or knowledge of social determinants of health preferred.
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
  • Knowledge of or experience with mixed methods research.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information.
  • Organizational ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and to prioritize duties.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience working in electronic medical records and chart abstraction a plus.
  • Preference for prior exposure to tools such as REDCap, EPIC (Electronic Medical Record), BOX, Microsoft Office, Outlook Calendars, and Zoom.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
