Location: Le Mars, Iowa


Shift: Part - Time Monday-Saturday


Monday: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM


Wednesday: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM


Friday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM


Saturday: 8 AM - 3 PM


Off Sunday and Monday


Position: Part-time (20-25 hours)



The Part-time Cashier/Receptionist Role is primarily responsible for the initial contact with Total’s customers and guests. This position is in charge of telephone communications and reception. Manage customer invoices, payments and accounts. Takes and reroutes outside calls; takes accurate messages and provides inquirers with basic information in a courteous and professional manner. Welcomes visitors to the dealership, questions them about the purpose of their visit and refers them to the appropriate individuals or department.


Primary Job Duties


Job duties for the Office Services position include:


  • Welcomes customers visiting the show room and inquires as to the purpose of their visit.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and a tidy workstation.
  • Inputs specific data to update certain computerized files and files or photocopies documents.
  • Refers customers to the appropriate department, notifies the employee concerned that a customer is waiting and introduces customers to the salespeople.
  • Answers all incoming calls quickly and in a courteous and professional manner and transfers them to the individual or department concerned.
  • Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
  • Close repair orders (RO’s) from Service & Body Shop.
  • Communicates with inquirers and visitors in a professional, friendly and effective manner.
  • Issues receipts for the customers, on receiving a deposit or taking delivery of a vehicle.


Desired Education & Qualifications


High School diploma with post high school education or Office certification preferred, OR a minimum of 3 years combination of education and/or work experience (preferably in General Office, Customer Service or Reception position).


Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Ability to operate basic office equipment (i.e., phone, copiers, fax, printers, etc.)
  • Maintain high level of confidential records and sensitive information.
  • Computer literate with strong keyboarding skills.
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Word and Excel and Power Point is needed.
  • Ability to function well as a member of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a presentable appearance & demeanor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
