The expected employment offer will be in the $17.034-21.292 range, depending on qualifications (full FY24 pay range is $17.034-27.679). Selected candidate will be eligible for annual merit increases and part-time benefits including pro-rated holidays/vacation/sick leave, tuition reimbursement, retirement, and wellness plans.

The City of Cedar Falls is accepting applications for a part-time Office Assistant to support its Public Safety staff in Police Records, up to 29 hrs/wk, Mon-Fri. Duties will include emptying evidence lockers and computer entry of their contents; re-packaging and placing evidence for testing or storage; returning property to owners and documenting as such; preparing, invoicing, and uploading/mailing legal requests for evidence; archiving the building video; completing general clerical duties; and greeting and working with the public in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Candidates must have two years of office experience including high levels of public contact and a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have the ability to learn pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations, and police communications; operate and use office equipment including computers, handheld radios, phones, etc.; and professionally interact with members of the public from diverse social and economic backgrounds. Strong organizational and communication skills and detail orientation preferred.

Special Requirements

Successful completion of a criminal background and post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen will be required of selected candidate. Equal Opportunity Employer
