Part-Time Assistant Professor, Consciousness And Transformative Studies Program

Position Summary

The School of Psychology & Social Sciences (JFK) is seeking a Part-time Assistant Professor in the following areas of specialization(s): Life Coaching Lessons - Consciousness and Transformative Studies Program.

In this role, the part-time faculty member will teach cohorts of students within a programmatic core discipline as assigned. Primary responsibilities include engaging students, offering excellent feedback, and inspiring students to achieve course and program outcomes relevant to the core discipline. This position works closely with other faculty teaching in the discipline, Associate Dean, and Dean.

CTS seeks a part-time instructor for our three coaching classes as of fall quarter (starting Oct. 2nd, 2023). These classes are online and include occasional synchronous sessions in the late afternoon or early evening (PST). The classes run during fall, winter, and spring quarters. Participants in the coaching classes include our master’s students taking the Life Coaching Emphasis as well as occasional non-matriculated participants in the Certificate in Life Coaching. Because students who pass the Life Coaching Emphasis are eligible to obtain coaching practice hours from the International Coaching Federation, we seek an instructor who is certified by ICF.

Essential Functions

The role of Part-time Assistant Professor includes teaching courses within a programmatic core discipline as assigned, acting as a Dissertation Chair and/or acting as a Dissertation Committee Member.

Compensation Range:

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position.
