JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for evaluating existing or proposed systems to structure and access databases.
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage database design, creation, and maintenance.
2. Analyze database requirements of the user department, applications programming, and operations.
3. Submit recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and require data security and data backup/recovery.
4. Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and back-up/recovery activities.
5. Coordinate research, planning and implementation of new database installations, upgrades and patches.
6. Control system capacity for existing requirements and plan for future needs.
7. Facilitate root cause analysis on database issues.
8. Maintain technical documentation relating to database management.
9. Provide 24/7 production support on a rotation basis.
10. Review/audit overall system security and data integrity.
11. Define and develop a database monitoring facility.
12. Identify and resolve all database performance issues.
13. Act as a subject matter expert for less experienced team members.
14. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
15. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
16. Demonstrate commitment to the Company's core values.

JOB SCOPE:
The incumbent works independently and relies on past experience to complete job responsibilities. The incumbent possesses an extensive range of knowledge of practices and procedures within the field and acts a resource for less experienced team members. Work is varied and complex.
Note: This job cannot be performed in Colorado.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including database design and implementation, administration of multiple instances of an Oracle 11g Database, Oracle 12c database with exposure to Multitenant architecture, RAC, Data Guard, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and data modeling experience
- Individual in this position must be able to work in a standard office environment which requires sitting and viewing monitor(s) for extended periods of time, operating standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, a keyboard, copier and telephone
- Knowledge of operating system scripting and clustering
- Experience with Rman backup and restore in 12c multitenant architecture
- Replication using Oracle Golden Gate , troubleshooting data mismatch using logdump
- Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable
- Experience with warehouse systems, including design of star schemas, materialized views, bitmapped indexes, parallel transactions and ETL tools
- Experience with installing OEM and setting up monitoring
- Experience with TDE in 12c multitenant architecture
- Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- OCP and/or programming background preferred
- Ability to provide 24/7 production support on rotation basis
- Organization, documentation, problem solving, and project management skills
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related engineering discipline or four (4) years of related experience
- Understanding of DevOps approach and knowledge of scripting to go along with DevOps is a plus
- Experience with high availability, standby, backup and recovery, large database management, compression and partitioning.
- Strong Knowledge of database concepts, performance tuning, proactive monitoring, and problem solving and analyzing traces using various tools
- Ability to communicate and interact with all levels as well as external customers
- Experience with MongoDB and other big data technologies is a plus
- Experience with FSFO and role transition with data guard
