What You Will Do:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Partner is a newly created position within Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) and the role will drive learning programs within Site Operations. As the Change and Learning Manager, you will champion the development of learning content and programs that elevate our experience and operations, as well as drive the business forward with a people growth mindset. Ultimately, you will help our company succeed by training and developing its people. You will be an expert at management from the line to General Manager level responsibilities and be able to “show not tell” in your teaching and training approach, tools and delivery. You will be able to back up for short and long periods of time if needed on locations for as much as 3 months if needed during transition and new museum openings too.
Your day-to-day:
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
  • Develops training and development programs shared and departmental objectives.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Supports the Operations department through change by creating the communication and training plans that will enable smooth implementation of strategic initiatives for each Museum of Ice Cream site.
  • Modifies programs as needed.
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the People team.
  • Work cross functionally to develop and maintain departmental communications such as bulletin boards, newsletters and online channels to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Learn every operational process across unit systems, facilities, back of house, cleaning, reporting, management and operational leader systems.
  • Develop program(s) and implement through various learning methods (e.g. visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, etc) across different modalities (e.g. in person, online and pre-recorded).
  • Train in the Assistant General Manager and General Manager training module on the ground at the unit level for three to four months.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results, and administers spend against the departmental budget to ensure success.
  • Conducts departmental training and development needs assessment in partnership with Corporate Change and Learning partner.
  • Identify and evaluate departmental needs for learning, use those inputs and future goals to create and execute the appropriate learning strategies and programs in partnership with Corporate Change and Learning partner.
  • Supports the training and coaching of managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
The salary range for this role is $80,000-$100,000 USD.
There is a 50% travel requirement.
Requirements
The necessities and nice-to-haves:
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • BSC/BA in Business, Psychology or a related field
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Proven experience as an L&D Manager, Training Manager or similar role
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
