14 hours/week (there may be some weeks where there are no programs in session, but will still be paid for 4 hours; schedules are put out a month in advance); long-term assignment, length dependent on work and performance; 100% remote; Max pay rate 27.54/hr; This is an IT role within Executive Education department - Job will be to create Zoom links for virtual programs and hosting while faculty is teaching (admitting people from waiting room, fielding questions from participants/faculty), top skill will be someone who is calm under pressure; Zoom skills can be trained; 2 rounds of interviews (screening with Arielle, then meeting with IT Directors); NO advanced degree required
Online Learning Facilitator
HBS is a world leader in providing transformative leadership training to organizations across the globe. HBS Executive Education offers a robust suite of programs, which includes a virtual portfolio instructed primarily on Zoom. Given this delivery model, ExEd is seeking Online Learning Facilitators (OLF) to support faculty and program delivery teams during these sessions. OLFs provide basic technical facilitation to participants, faculty member(s), and the delivery teams during virtual program sessions. OLFs are responsible for managing the Zoom platform, including serving as host for the Zoom session, managing access to the session, sharing documents or videos, polls, guest instructions, setting up and monitoring break out rooms as necessary, and providing support to the participants and faculty to ensure the discussions flow smoothly.
A keen understanding and appreciation of the HBS classroom culture is a must. As a member of the ExEd Information Technology team, a successful OLF is professional, punctual, reliable, and able to remain focused and alert during a full 90+ minute class session. OLFs must be comfortable with technology, especially the Zoom platform. This role requires clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal. The OLF will need to be able to multi-task in a calm and collected manner, participants and faculty themselves may be uncomfortable with this mode of session delivery and will need support. The OLF must be able to use resources and skills swiftly and efficiently if something does go wrong. Although there will be technical support available during classes, the OLF is the first line of support and is expected to keep the class moving as smoothly as possible.
Job-Specific Responsibilities
Support Program Delivery as Online Learning Facilitator
Support Faculty Lead Coordinator by creating Zoom links for sessions, obtaining session materials from faculty, and responding to technical needs up to and throughout the virtual session(s)
Meet with Faculty and/or Program Directors leading up to programs to understand technical and support needs
During virtual session(s), admit participants from the waiting room, monitor AV needs for faculty and participants, create breakout rooms/polls and escalate technical issues to the appropriate teams as-needed
Act as stand-in for virtual simulations when needed
Technical Operations Support
Support day-to-day operations through administrative functions including but not limited to:
Ensure Salesforce data hygiene by identifying, merging or deleting duplicate or extraneous records
Assisting with support cases and operational tasks for ExEd users
Identifying operational efficiencies within the Exed IT department
Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements:
Flexible schedule is necessary. OLFs are required to login to classes remotely based on a course schedule which may vary day-to-day during the term. While classes typically fall into the 8:00am-6:00pm timeframe, occasional early morning, or late afternoon/early evening coverage may be necessary based on the program schedule.
Basic Qualifications :
BA/BS or equivalent experience required.
Proficient user of Zoom, Salesforce and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Comfort with learning new applications and technology
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in person and in writing
Strong customer service orientation
Attention-to-detail, punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and ability to work autonomously
Appropriate professional behaviour and dress are essential
