The Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing has an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a passion for stewarding the next generation of nurses across the Commonwealth. This new position will serve as a specialized recruiter and be an integral member of the strategic communications and recruitment team. Charged with undergraduate recruitment for several of our campus partners, this position will aim to bolster enrollment in our traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and our RN to BSN programs. This position will require a collaborative approach to build working relationships with each campus, to include their campus coordinator and the respective admissions team. This role requires a dedicated approach to recruitment, understanding the nuances of nursing education, while also having the ability to connect with prospective students of all backgrounds.

The college is uniquely positioned throughout the state of Pennsylvania and online, with various offerings at 11 commonwealth campuses, University Park and the online World Campus. Given this positioning, the successful candidate will be expected to facilitate recruitment and enrollment goals mirroring the breadth of the college’s offerings while meeting each Campus’s specific needs.

This role is of critical importance, as it will serve as the first point of contact for prospective students, and this individual will be expected to usher prospects through the enrollment process. The successful candidate will be tasked with becoming a brand ambassador for the college, reaching new market segments and recruits with effective messaging, plan and represent the college at various recruitment events including high school visits, national college and professional conferences, and other off-campus events. This person formally reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and Recruitment and will be expected to work heavily with our Assistant Director of Nursing Student Recruitment to ensure a cohesive and effective recruitment strategy is employed. Further, this position will be required to provide reports identifying trends and opportunities with timely analytical insights. Specific priorities for this position will include the recruitment of high school students for six of our campus partners, including Penn State Altoona, Penn State Erie, Penn State Fayette, Penn State Mont Alto, Penn State Schuylkill, and Penn State Scranton. Additional recruitment priorities will include recruiting for the graduate program and faculty/staff as needed.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, outgoing, timely, organized, collaborative and understand the significance of effective engagement. A bachelor’s degree or higher with one year of experience is required, priority will be given to candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Experience with Customer Relationship Management software or equivalent is strongly preferred but the willingness to learn is also valued. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with and articulate admission options at all campuses for all applicant types. The ability to manage concurrent expectations while demonstrating a high level of student-centered customer service in a dynamic environment is critical. Travel and/or alternative hours will be required. This position requires operation of a motor vehicle as a part of job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
