Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, the position is responsible for recruiting international students, advising prospective international students on the enrollment process, and supporting SEVIS processes. The position functions as the primary liaison to partners engaged in international student recruitment such as high school and community college counselors, overseas international education offices and other partner organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist in establishing enrollment targets for international students.
2. Meet established enrollment targets for international students.
3. Actively maintain current international student contacts in the CRM and follow up as needed.
4. Identify prospective international students.
5. Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for U.S. Immigration’s Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) system.
6. Effectively communicate and support prospective international students throughout the enrollment process.
7. Communicate any potential issues/concerns to the Director of Admissions and/or CWC SEVIS officer as appropriate.
8. Use identified databases to organize and track student communication and progress.
9. Develop a marketing plan for international student recruitment in partnership with the marketing office.
10. Maintain effective partnerships with partner organizations for international recruitment and international student support.
11. Inform the college community about best practices for serving international students.
12. Assist with admissions events and projects, including public presentations.

15. Operate within the guidelines set forth in the College’s policies, procedures and practices.
16. Perform other reasonably related duties as directed or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, preferably in communication, international studies, business, or other relevant field.
Experience:
- Two years experience working to support individuals from diverse backgrounds, preferably in higher education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Experience:
- Knowledge and experience working with international student regulations and procedures or previous experience as a Designated School Official. Candidates with international connections and recruitment experience are highly desired. Bilingual language skills are also highly desired.

1. Ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and
English-language skills.

3. Ability to relate to international students and work closely with them through the process
4. Skills using Microsoft Office, Google Applications and keyboarding
5. Knowledge of CWC Policies and Procedures or the ability to learn them
6. Knowledge of federal and state laws relating to higher education or the ability to learn them
7. Knowledge of the college’s integrated database software or the ability to learn it
8. Knowledge of CRM’s or the ability to learn them
9. Knowledge of email marketing tools or the ability to learn
10. Ability to relate with a diverse population in a professional, courteous manner
11. Ability to drive long distances over long hours
12. Ability to work independently while supporting a team effort
13. Energetic presentation, strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills
14. Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion
15. Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems
16. Ability to manage time and other resources wisely
17. Ability to focus on the needs of the student and articulate how CWC can fill those needs
18. Ability to solve problems through reasoning and collaboration
19. Ability to learn about various cultures and norms
20. Ability to learn Sevis rules and regulations
21. Ability to navigate the complex process of becoming an international student
Level of Supervision
- This position operates with significant autonomy under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions.

- Work is performed using standard office equipment and requires the use of an automobile.
Physical Requirements
- Tasks require a variety of physical activities, which do not generally involve muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching and light lifting. Regular talking, hearing and seeing required in the normal course of performing the job. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform some essential functions. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Environmental Conditions
- Work is performed in the office with substantial work outside of the office and requires frequent & extensive travel. Travel, weekend and evening work will be required. Variable hours to accommodate communicating across time zones will be required.
