Responsibilities:
Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse, assists the nursing and medical staff by performing identified service and established procedures to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients. Maintains patient care areas in a clean and orderly condition; prepares equipment and supplies according to established procedure and transports patients as needed. Participates in the orientation process of new employees.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED, BLS certification, de-escalation and first aid training
Certificate from an approved Nurse Aide training program or comparable education
such as an EMT certificate
In lieu of certificate must have prior hospital or sub-acute experience or be a nursing student who has completed a Nursing Fundamentals course
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families that demonstrate recognition of cultural diversity
Basic analytical skills in order to gather data, complete comparisons, interpret and report outcomes to the nurse or document on the medical record.
Must have excellent customer service and telephone skills
Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
