Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Connected Technologies Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated New Products Contracts Consultant.

The primary responsibility of this role is to Provide leadership and support regarding priorities and activities to 4-5 consulting resources involved in 2 key areas: Contract Negotiations & New Project Support.

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Contracts, Supplier Management, Data Privacy and Governance, the person in this role will support the Connected Technologies department's objective to develop new in-vehicle telematics products and companion services for both retail and business customers by completing contracts in a timely manner to minimize costs, maximize value, and manage risks to Toyota.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide day-to-day direction to 1-2 Contract Specialists regarding the development and management of revenue contracts in partnership with the Legal department for Connected Technology and Mobility. These contracts are where TMNA is the supplier to the customer.
• Manage regulation check process for new initiatives.
• Provide day-to-day direction to 2-3 Contract Specialists regarding the development and management of new project contracts in partnership with the Legal department and Procurement for Connected Technology and Mobility. Contracts include Statements of Work, License Agreements, and Master Service Agreements that drive overall Connected Technology Financial performance.
• Direct the management of the vendor selection process (Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals) in partnership with Procurement.
• Manage and own negotiating with complex contracts.
• Work with Connected Technology leadership and product owners to streamline processes and ensure the team provides the best support to Connected Technology Product Subject Matter Experts and TMNA groups.
• Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and other Toyota groups to improve processes and ensure the best support for Connected Technology.
• Determine agreement type necessary to support the work the Product Owner is requesting

What You Bring

• Experience with Technical Software development and/or other related negotiation experience.
• Automotive knowledge and multimedia/telematics (in-vehicle and server) and automotive hardware (DCM, Head Unit) experience.
• Work well under minimal supervision with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Advanced understanding of software license and intellectual property and other legal terms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
