Position: Business Intelligence / SSRS Engineer

Duration: 6 Months+

Location: 100% Remote

The individual needs to have the following experience while keeping the job description in mind:

• SSRS reporting.
• Experience working in highly matrixed environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work with the business directly to create reports.
• Experience in SQL.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Position Description

This position is responsible to follow established software development standards and policies. Design, develop, implement, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The software engineer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.

• Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs to correct errors, isolate areas for improvement, and general debugging.
• Research emerging Business Intelligence software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
• Collaborate with business experts to design universes that meet the needs of the business and create quality and consistency of reporting across multiple areas.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
• Research and document requirements of report users.
• Collaborate with business owners to assist in the development of reports. Tasks include requirement gathering, development, testing, and maintenance.
• Assist in the preparation and documentation of report requirements and specifications.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
• Provide mentoring, guidance, and training on how to most effectively use the reporting and analysis tools.
• Collaborate with ETL developers to design, develop, test, maintain, and support the data architecture to ensure optimal performance and reporting flexibility while maintaining data warehouse quality standards.
• Install software products for end users as required.
• Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.
• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
• Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.
• Collaborate with project leads, business analysts, end users, and third-party contacts to design, implement and test software applications.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered instead of a degree.

Required Experience

• Experience with requirement gathering development, testing, and maintenance.
• Software troubleshooting experience and familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
• Experience in developing ad-hoc reporting capabilities using Microsoft BI tools.
• Seven years of business intelligence development experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience developing SQL Server Reporting Services Reports.
• Experience working with healthcare data, Business Objects, or Tableau.
