About The Position
The One Club For Creativity seeks an energetic and enthusiastic Community Manager to join the membership team, reporting directly to the Membership Director. The primary objective of the role will be to engage our individual membership community through planning and coordinating community events, maintaining contact with and receiving feedback from members, and assisting our seven chapters to more fully integrate with HQ while engaging and retaining their own members.
On a monthly basis, the Community Manager will work across departments to help plan and facilitate community centric events in the New York City area to include: New Member Welcome Events, Happy Hours, Themed Seasonal Events and the like.
The Community Manager will build relationships with our individual members through regular outreach, surveys, and improving the club’s automated communications - gathering data to better understand the desires of the community, helping to suggest and implement programs, benefits and offerings that serve members directly. They will also directly service and help to run member platforms such as the marketplace and the membership dashboard.
The Community Manager will be instrumental in developing and managing our Chapter infrastructure. They will serve as a primary point of contact for Chapter Leads to ensure all events are listed on the website and well coordinated with social and communications teams. They will help to form toolkits that help chapters learn how to speak to membership and convert local event attendees into members.
Finally, the Community Manager will generally support the Membership team, lending a hand to all of its programs which include a global Portfolio Night event, Mentor & Creative: a 6-week mentorship program, Morning Buzz: our virtual membership program, and more.
Success of the role will be measured by tracking member retention, conversion of Award & Judge Memberships into ongoing paid memberships, and overall engagement metrics such as member event attendance and data collection. The Community Manager will be expected to help track membership through detailed reporting and organized delivery of member feedback.
Responsibilities Include:
- Sending personal outreach communications to promote attendance and involvement with programs; collection of possible features and overall relationship building.
- Calendaring and coordinating various monthly member events; working with events, design and communications departments to ensure proper execution.
- Crafting surveys, collecting and synthesizing responses
- Updating and maintaining automated email campaigns that promote renewal, onboarding and engagement
- Working with the membership team to plan and member outreach strategy
- Maintain regular communication with our 7 chapters
- Compiling and crafting resources to share with chapter leads and maintaining organization of the tools
- Coordinating promotion with social and communication teams
- Assisting with event listings
- Assisting with the compilation of monthly reports demonstrating member retention & engagement along with notable feedback to shape offerings.
Desired Qualifications & Characteristics:
- Event planning/coordination skills are a plus.
- Must be willing to work from our Manhattan office 2x a week + attend events as scheduled.
- An engaging personality, passionate about advertising and/or design, and enthusiastic about promoting, connecting and serving members in the community.
- Strong written & spoken communication skills required.
- Teamplayer who is willing to help in a variety of capacities as needed.
- Ability to track and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- 2-3 year professional experience, ideally in a membership organization or customer service preferred.
