Our Central team is seeking a Member Registration Specialist to assist our members. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with potential and existing members and colleagues to provide information and support regarding insurance processes. The full-time position requires timeliness and flexibility, organization, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The duties and responsibilities are time sensitive, and require a candidate to be organized and efficient with their time.
Job responsibilities of the Member Registration Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Providing resources to members regarding insurance coverage.
- Fulfilling requests via assigned work tickets or worklists to determine insurance coverage.
- Verifying insurance for all new and existing members. Including medical, behavioral health and pharmacy benefit details.
- Completing insurance prior authorizations.
- Communicating with members via text, phone call, and email to obtain accurate insurance information and assist with the insurance application process.
- Coordinate group meetings via Zoom to ensure members are connected with their counselors and providers and accurately document attendance.
- Negotiate additional tasks based upon department needs and evolving organizational factors.
- Assisting member with state insurance transitions (e.g. NH Medicaid to VT Medicaid)
- Attending regularly-scheduled meetings including a weekly company-wide Zoom meeting, a daily department huddle, and weekly one-on-one check-ins with supervisors and other staff members.
- Collaborating with colleagues in various departments and organizational programs regarding any insurance questions or needs while maintaining confidentiality within the regulations of 42 CFR, Part 2 and HIPAA.
This position is fully remote (work from home).
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The starting pay range for this position is $18.53 to $25.00 per hour.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience and understanding of the insurance waterfall process.
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone call, text message, email, and instant message.
- Willingness and eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative.
- Previous experience in healthcare, mental health, or billing and insurance-related fields.
- Customer service expertise required.
- Experience using Google Drive programs including, but not limited to, Mail, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in HealthCare Management or a related field a plus.
- Prior experience and understanding of prior authorization process (submission and renewal) required.
- Basic computer software and hardware proficiency and troubleshooting competency.
Work from home requirements:
- Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
- Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
- Company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset) plus a remote work stipend.
- Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.
