Medical Biller/ Coder- Ut Or West Of The Rockies

We are looking for a candidate with Medical Billing/Coding and Collections experience to become a member of our team, for a busy medical billing and consulting company.  We are located in Utah and are looking for a candidate who is either in Utah or within the West Coast Region.  Candidate must be well organized, detail-oriented, a self-starter, a team player, and have active communication skills.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee daily processing and submission of claims from the practice management (PM) system to the clearinghouse and third-party payors.
Athena, AdvancedMD, and Kareo experience a plus.
Knowledge of family practice, podiatry, behavioral health, laboratory, and Palliative Care billing and coding.
Continuously working on the A/R and denials to prevent losses from timely filing and research denials to keep us informed accordingly.
Proactively monitor for errors and issues and promptly resolve them to ensure payments are processed so as not to exceed the timely filing rules.
Resolve edits related to coding; obtain and review relevant documentation and ensure documentation supports services billed.
Oversee the insurance correspondences, such as Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Coordination of Benefits, and researches appropriate claims steps, such as first or second appeal.
Communicates with insurance carriers to track and check the status of appeals.
Work with insurance payors to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Troubleshoot patient account issues, including direct resolution of billing issues with patients.
Ensure accurate patient statements are sent out along with analyzing patients' accounts and recommending collections accordingly.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
This position is a Full time, flexible hours, and 1099/contracted employee.
Must follow company and federal and state guidelines and regulations.
 Requirements:
Coding: 2 year minimum. Must Have no less than 2 yrs.
Medical Billing: 1-year minimum
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365.
Must have CPC, CPB a plus.  CRC must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Good phone etiquette. and willingness to assist other team members as needed.
Must be able to attend staff meetings.
Must be able to show workstation is within a HIPAA-compliant setting and computer is not removable. Working from a laptop that is not encrypted will not be allowed.
Candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check prior to the job offer.
The candidate will be asked to complete a DISC 123 communication style test.
* Full Time, Flexible Schedule, Contracted Employee, $18-22hr depending on experience.
