We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join us full time at our primary care clinic in Asheville, NC.
We are looking for a compassionate MA who is a good communicator, works well with others, is kind, organized, and can help us assist the flow of the office. If you have excellent customer service skills, phlebotomy experience, medical knowledge with 1-2 years of recent medical experience, then we want to hear from you! We need you and your unique skills to join our dynamic team in our busy, primary care office.

We have a fantastic team of Physicians, Physician Assistants, MAs, LPNs, and support staff and we need to add to our growing group!
Duties
Assist physician in exam rooms when needed
Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients by taking getting patient history
Measure vital signs including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients chart
Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician
Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients medical records prior to their appointment
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, sterilization as required
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
Transmit prescription refills as directed
Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians
Process referrals and obtain prior authorization
Assist with maintaining all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
Ability to perform EKGs, remove sutures, change dressings, administer SQ, IM injections, TB skin test, perform peak flows, ear lavages
Perform CLIA Waived test such A1C, UAs, PT/INR, Strep and Flu Test, Hemoglobin, Mono
Phlebotomy
Scheduling appointments, entering and verifying insurance, collecting
Process incoming medical records request
Requirements
Certified Medical Assistant License or Paramedic
1-2 years recent nursing experience
Phlebotomy experience
Salary (range)
$20-$22 per hour depending on medical experience
Schedule
Monday-Thursday 8:00 to 5:00 and Friday 8:00 to 12:00 pm
Full time with days on Friday
