Job Description
Title- Epic Beaker Project Manager (Expert)


Location- Raleigh, NC Looking for a local candidate in Raleigh, NC (candidates who are willing to relocate, or travel are welcome to apply


  • Hybrid expectation- There will be a one-week orientation session in September, and likely 1 week per month during the project, with being onsite for about 2-4 weeks for go live prep and go live support. About 6 times during the project on average but could be less.


MUST have all the required certifications in EPIC Beaker & PMP from PMI. Candidates with prior state experience STRONGLY preferred. Candidates MUST come from the healthcare background with at least 8 years of experience in Project Management. Seeking an experienced Epic Beaker project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and is able to manage the planning and implementation of a new Electronic Health Record system implementation and transition from legacy RCM.


Will manage the planning and implementation of an EHR implementation project for the Operated Healthcare Facilities and transition from the three legacy LIS applications. This project management role will work with other EHR project managers and executive leadership team, multiple internal and external stakeholders, and selected vendor(s) to analyze, plan, and implement the clinical/laboratory components required for an Epic EHR system. This position will be responsible for working with senior-level business executives, IT management and personnel, business program resources and vendor staff to define and execute requirements and manage stakeholder expectations. This position will manage the day-to-day activities for the assigned portion of the project and complete all input into overall EHR program reporting and the Project Portfolio Tool (MS Project Server) and/or Smartsheet as needed.


Responsibilities


  • Setting clear expectations for team members, including defining what they should do at each phase of the project.
  • Guiding workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Reinforcing the importance of the project together with the EHR program executives and the Program Director, and providing consistent communication to the project team
  • Managing the project from an organizational perspective while attending to detailed tasks
  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues.
  • Assisting as a support contact for revenue cycle.
  • Maintaining the scope, schedule, and quality of the project for the Beaker Clinical EHR build team.
  • Advising and coaching team members by providing guidance on project issues, key success factors of the project, and lessons learned.
  • Motivating and showing appreciation for the team
  • Participating in training and working with end users.
  • System meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline.
  • Sharing with team members the positive effects of innovation and system capabilities.
  • Appropriately matching team member skills to team responsibilities
  • Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.

  • Reporting and reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
  • Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows.
  • Working closely with the EHR Program Director and other project managers/team managers to coordinate activities.
  • Serving as a liaison between organizational needs and Epic implementation staff
  • Organizing resources within the organization
  • Developing and maintaining all required CIO and PMO project documentation in coordination with other EHR PMO PM resources
  • Ensuring that the business community is engaged in the project.
