If you are a Journeyman, please submit your application for the Electrician Licensed E9 (Job Number: 5901-23-SWR-20-ELECE9-LC). If you are a Master Electrician, please submit your application for the Electrician Master Licensed E10 (Job Number: 5901-23-SWR-19-MasterElectE10). You are also welcome to submit your application for both positions.

This position will function as a Region Electrician for the Southwest Region with responsibilities to install, upgrade, perform routine and emergency repair of traffic signals, freeway lighting, pump stations, MDOT facilities, and related electronic equipment. May inspect the work of contractors hired by MDOT to install signals to assure that all work conforms to specifications and the electrical code as regulated by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and accept contracted work.
The duties of this position require the incumbent to drive an aerial bucket truck weighing more than 26,000 pounds with occasional towing requirements (i.e. work trailer, arrow board). The incumbent is also required to operate the aerial lift equipment in order to perform the duties of this position. Duties which will require the use of this equipment include, but are not limited to, installing and/or repairing aerial traffic signal equipment, setting poles and pedestals, installing and/or repairing overhead wires and cables, and installing and/or repairing lighting at MDOT facilities. The duties of this position will also require the incumbent to drive a pickup weighing less than 10,001 pounds for work that does not require a bucket truck to perform.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Electrician Licensed E9 position.
