A Snapshot of Your Day

Manages material control laboratory and technicians engaged in raw material testing, approval of alloy, heat treatment, hip, and weld certifications, gage calibration and control, and preparation and certification of metallurgical reports for part/process qualifications used to manufacture a wide variety of investment cast industrial gas turbine components produced to meet all requirements of the customer supplied specifications for each part.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Reviews new or revised customer specifications in order to assure and arrange for compliance to contract requirements.
• Directly supervises 3 - 8 employees in the material control laboratory.
• Produce documentation in order to flow down applicable customer specification requirements to outside vendors of materials and processes.
• Technical supervision of customer approved and audited vacuum heat treatment facility.
• Monitoring of various processes for compliance to customer specifications, including heat treatment, welder qualification testing per customer and industry requirements, core removal, Hot Isostatic Pressing from outside sources, and other processes as required.
• Update and/or write procedures and specifications related to testing, heat treatment, welding, alloy purchasing etc.
• Conducts and/or supervises and arranges for testing of nickel, cobalt, and stainless steel parts or test specimens for the following characteristics: tensile, stress-rupture, hardness, microstructure, chemical properties, and other testing as required.

What You Bring

• Experience in customer and vendor management
• Excellent analytical skills (spreadsheets, pivots, Cpk analysis, trending) and presentation skills (ppt)
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in theUnited States without need for current or future employer-sponsoredwork authorization.
• Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated results in problem solving, root cause investigations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills at all levels of the organization
• 2+ years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• Experience with investment casting qualification and metallurgical investigations is preferred.
• This requirement can be waived with 2+ years of related experience, training or combination of the 2.
• Results oriented and driven to advance our alloy program.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma is required, with preference towards Metallurgical, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• In addition to the lab, selected candidate will be required to work on the shop floor to coordinate with operators and other supervisors.
