Job Description
Overview:
Gain valuable experience, help individuals in substance use recovery, and make professional contacts in your role as an intern with Chestnut Health Systems. This part-time role is based in Belleville, IL.
Responsibilities:
Provide evidence-based therapy for individuals, groups, and families according to treatment/recovery/safety plan. Provide immediate access services as needed. Link clients to community services and resources. Provide education about mental health and substance use in order to encourage family involvement. Act as a peer leader to provide clinical guidance to less experienced staff. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness and spirituality/connectedness.
Qualifications:
Must be pursuing a Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
