Job Description
AEDD is now accepting applications for a receptionist. Position responsible for answering a multi-line phone system and a broad range of administrative, clerical & office duties. Microsoft Word, Publisher, and switchboard experience preferred. Must be able to pass drug test and criminal background check. EOE M/F


Salary: $11.00 per hour


Summary: The Receptionist at SGSCLC is expected to have the switchboard open and operating promptly at start of scheduled shift and throughout the day, relief coverage will be provided for lunch and breaks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, flow of correspondence, as well as additional clerical duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Ensure the money received for employee meals is counted and locked away daily and turned in to the business manager by the end of the week.
  • Daily, change and file copies of the following: sign in/out sheets for staff, Allied, visitors; and transportation log.
  • Maintain child pickup/emergency book.
  • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
  • Daily, prepare list for cafeteria of total kids/staff eating meals.
  • Immediately upon receiving, input new child information into attendance and classroom rosters.
  • Complete the monthly children attendance calendar then forward to the Director, Service Coordination and the Business Manager.
  • Daily update classroom attendance sheet & children's classroom sign in and out sheet.
  • Monitors visitor access ensuring they sign-in and issues visitor badges when required.
  • Check and document ratio hourly. Notify the education department immediately of ratio shortage and overages. Document child and staff changes/moves on designated form.
  • Receives, sorts, and routes mail.
  • Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.
  • Professionally administer all incoming calls, ensuring phone calls are redirected accordingly
  • Greet guests in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, and other related information.
  • Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED is required. A minimum of three to six months previous experience is preferred.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/First Aid and Arkansas Driver's License as necessary


Safety Sensitive Position: This is a safety sensitive position as it involves operating a motor vehicle as part of the job duties and a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death to the consumers being transported. See Ark. Const. Amend. 98 2(25). All positions classified as safety must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs. All positions classified as safety sensitive are prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act, regardless of whether the employee possesses a medical marijuana registry identification card. See id. at 3(f)(3)(B)(iii). This policy applies during all work hours, whenever conducting business for AEDD.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
