Earn up to $25.00/hour based upon experience. As a Quality Inspector II at NMG Aerospace, you are responsible for final inspection and in-process audits of parts/assemblies/processes to meet customer specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements. You will determine part conformity, compliance, and ensure that it is suitable for use by our customer. Essential Job Functions
- Review, control and maintenance of paperwork, documents, certs, and records
- Process DMR’s
- Be able to read and understand aerospace specifications, military specifications, industry specifications, and/or manufacturing instructions.
- Perform Airworthiness Representative functions including 8130 documentation
- Be able to set up and operate CMM using established programs
- Inspect/audit product using all variable or attribute measuring equipment and record results to ensure conformance with part and customer requirements.
- Achieve qualification as customer inspection delegate (DSQR)
- Perform First Article Inspection
- Be able to read and interpret all print requirements including those developed using Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Additional Duties
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives companywide.
- Other duties, reporting, special assignments or projects as needed and assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated competency with metrology equipment
- 3+ years’ experience in a quality inspection role within the machining industry, preferably in an aerospace environment
- This position may require physical activity to include handling of objects up to 40 pounds. Anything above this weight limit will require the use of the proper equipment outlined during OTJ and workplace safety training. Physical activity may also include long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- CMM operation (preferred)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or shop floor to access work supplies, tools, machinery, etc.
- GD&T competency
- Must be willing to submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with NMG Aerospace (i.e. drug screen, background check, eye exam, hearing exam, etc.) and any subsequent testing required for the position during employment.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, and Word), digital imaging, Adobe Acrobat.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional training in Quality Control and/or ASQ certification preferred.
