What you’ll be doing...

The Manager of Marketing Strategy works across the Verizon Value Marketing organization and cross functionally with the Value Organization to identify and develop key strategic plans to drive growth within Verizon Value. You will be a key member of the Value Marketing Strategy and Operations team supporting overall Portfolio strategy. You will be responsible for working with Marketing Leadership, including the CMO and Marketing Directors to craft both near term and long term Marketing roadmaps, strategic decisions and recommendations and results. You will be responsible for understanding both quant and qual data and working with teams to develop the insights to underpin the overall strategy. This role is for a builder, someone who wants to see impact in the work they do every day and have an incredible opportunity to drive a portfolio of brands and business to stay #1 in the category. You will provide thought leadership and recommendations to Verizon Value Marketing’s most senior leaders on relevant topics in the marketing space, with objective, clear, impactful analysis that lead to recommendations that are aligned on and presented in a clear and concise manner.

Our Value Marketing Strategy team works across both acquisition and base marketing and supports senior leadership in crafting analysis, actions, and messaging/narrative/design for key strategic plans and meetings.

  • Partnering with Verizon Value and Marketing partner leadership to leverage market insights that identify and conceptualize new opportunities that will advance business goals.
  • Developing structured, short-term and long-term perspectives for key marketing campaigns and channels with a strong first to market and disruptive mindset.
  • Supporting preparation of strategy presentations for major Governance meetings (e.g. Executive Leadership, Cross-Functional Teams, Marketing Partners and Retailers, etc.).
  • Leading cross-functional teams within marketing in collaboration to drive initiatives and business results.
  • Translating strategy into key initiatives that, upon execution, deliver the strategy.
  • Developing strategy from insights/results and building the narrative to help cross functional and external partners understand via slide-ware.
  • Supporting the strategic planning process for marketing and driving its implementation to other operational activities (e.g., capital allocation, budgeting, portfolio strategy, base strategy and operational alignment meetings).
  • Working closely with Verizon Value functional teams to ensure marketing strategy delivers objective strategic rationale.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the entire Value Marketing Brand portfolio and business objectives.
  • Developing effective presentations.

This role may be considered as part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.

You'll need to have:

  • Willingness to travel approximately up to 25%.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in analyzing marketing, industry trends, and the ability to find opportunities for Verizon Value Marketing growth based on this research.
  • Background in driving telecom sales, subscriptions, technology sales and/or advertising.
  • Experience in strategic thinking with being able to analyze data to make appropriate process/business decisions/recommendations and shape strategy.
  • Experience in working in a large, dynamic, complex organization, where developing strong interpersonal relationships and leading through influence are keys to success.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills (e.g., storyboarding, executive proposal creation, presentation of said proposals).
  • Ability to have naturally collaborative approach as you will be working in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong self-initiative – ability to deal with high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areas while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in supporting executive-level communications in a rapid-paced environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an MBA.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including robust financial modeling skills and the ability to perform and review quantitative analysis with relative autonomy.
  • Two or more years of experience in marketing strategy, general strategy, consulting, or similar experience.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $114,000.00 and $212,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
