Job Description

Location:
The ideal location for this role is the East Hanover, NJ site. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20-25% travel.

About the Role:
The Novartis ASCVD Therapeutic Area is looking for a marketer who will play a meaningful role in helping improve the lives of patients with ASCVD in the US. Do you want to be part of a team that puts patients first and puts a strong focus on customer-centric initiatives?

The Associate Director, Marketing Strategy will support a Marketing Director in defining marketing strategy for a brand(s), including the delivery of key strategic analyses and outputs to inform customer experience planning and execution within the Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience, US Organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create engaging brand-centered content and concepts for adaptation into personalized and tailored experiences.
  • Reporting directly into a Director, Marketing Strategy, partnering closely with this Lead along with other Marketing partners, to ensure that the HCP Marketing Strategy and concepts are effectively orchestrated into customer-centric campaigns, tactics and experiences
  • Effectively work in a competitive environment and develop key strategies within this market context.
  • Cultivate an impactful team that proactively and effectively interfaces across key functions to achieve the product strategies and objectives.
  • Implement best in class marketing strategies that align to brand goals and improve business results. Translate market data signals to actions that lead to behavior change.
  • Be accountable for partnering across Customer Engagement teams to align field strategy as part of the integrated HCP marketing plan and serve as a key collaborator with the Customer Engagement training and field leadership teams. The base priority for this role is to focus on HCP audience to drive demand and brand differentiation, with longer term opportunity to focus on other customer strategies, including but not limited to consumer activation and practice expert education.
  • Ensure integration with field-force (FF) activities and maintain regular updates with FF, Training and Sales Ops.
  • Work effectively with Marketing Strategy Director and cross-functional teams (i.e., Marketing Strategy team, Customer Experience & Optimization team, Data, Insights & Analytics team, Content Lab, and HCP Education Delivery team, Novartis Patient Support, Market Access) to develop a cohesive and integrated HCP marketing campaign and tactics, grounded in customer insight.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to identify gaps in customer needs and provides solutions to overcome barriers.
  • Responsible for identifying, testing, and validating HCP messaging architecture, and creating assets for customers (e.g., HCPs, system decision makers) within hospital institutions and systems, including field-delivered resources. Responsible for execution and coordination of advisory boards and HCP promotional efforts at medical congresses. This role will identify, share, and embed best practices across the Marketers to improve impact and build communities of practice on effective and impactful HCP marketing.

Minimum requirements

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required. MBA or related Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience of using data, analytics, and customer in-sights to drive personalization at scale in the US Market.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in or developing strategy or content for hospitals and/or integrated systems.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to collaborate effectively with various partners and teams including Product, Communications, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex ide-as and information to a range of audiences and team members. Meticulous with the ability to independently manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Marketing or commercial experience in pharmaceuticals. Experience supporting a new function and working with high complexity brands.

Desirable Requirements:
  • Recent launch experience for blockbuster specialty treatments
  • Experience within cardiovascular

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $151,200 and $226,800/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
