Market Analyst Jobs

Key Responsibilities

• Track modeling enhancements pertaining to industry requirements
• Apply analytical approach to assignment, translating long-term fundamental views into quantitative analysis
• Keep abreast of developments across the power & renewables industry · Perform research and analysis on power and fuel markets utilizing internal models and contribute to the development of company’s market analytics platform (Zonal, Long Term Capacity Expansion or Nodal models)
• Build out user interfaces for various market analysis/visualization tools - Attention to details

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Power Point
• Knowledge of transmission issues pertaining to the various power markets is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability is highly desirable.
• Relevant experience in programming and data management: working knowledge of SQL is required. Experience in UI design and Python programming language is a plus.
• English fluency is required.
• Understanding of energy markets structures, dynamics, and rules.
• Minimum BA/BS in electrical engineering, mathematics, applied statistics, computer science, data science or economics; advanced degree is desirable.
• Minimum of 2+ years of work experience with production cost modeling and transmission planning in the power sector with hands-on experience in model development using software tools, such as AURORA, PLEXOS, PROMOD IV, UPLAN or Gridview.
• Strong orientation towards designing efficient and reliable process is required.
• Knowledge of North American power markets including regional differences

Compensation, Location, and Benefits

The expected salary range* for this position begins at $110,000. Factors that may be used to determine the final compensation include relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual discretionary bonus program.
