We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team and support operations for a growing and thriving company.
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for electrical and mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds. This position has fiscal responsibility for the Maintenance Dept. to include budgeting, expenditures, and capital budget expenses for facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recommend plans, and implements equipment needed to improve production efficiency and/or cost reduction procedures
- Confers with management members to formulate facilities capital expense budget and priorities. Assists controller in calculating return on investment for CER’s
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of maintenance employees; ensures their ability to safely operate shop and auxiliary equipment
- Responsible for budgets and business planning for department and responsible for establishing and meeting department goals and objectives
- Collaborates with engineering staff and other plants’ maintenance staffs to efficiently implement any process, equipment and tooling changes, updates and repairs
- Responsible for electrical and mechanical equipment layouts and modification of facilities within the plant
- Schedules contractors for major repairs as needed
- Responsible for environmental compliance for facility, relating to EPA and all required reporting and compliance issues. Confers with local regulatory agencies to discover local environmental quality standards, industrial practices, and new developments in pollution abatement
- Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance team
REQUIRED SKILLS:
The right candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Supervisory experience of up to 25 employees
- Sense of urgency and availability to be on-call as needed for support and emergencies relating to production and equipment
- An understanding of the critical responsibility the Maintenance Dept. has on the overall operation
- Technical understanding of electrical, mechanic and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting
- Attention to detail, ensuring maintenance tasks are not overlooked and minor site problems do not escalate to major
- Organizational skills for scheduling maintenance tasks and ensuring job completion, especially during emergency
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and the ability to translate complex information
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel. Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Thorough technical understanding of production equipment, facility equipment and utilities. Has command of proper engineering practices and procedures. Computer skills required for multiple graphs, reports and charts. Manufacturing experience required. College degree in related field; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
