The Manager of Sourcing and Category Management is a strategic role that continually assesses business needs, financials and the supplier and service provider market to determine the best options and sources of supply for the organization.
Role Responsibilities
  • Define sourcing strategies for relevant products, services and platforms aligned to business unit needs.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends that have an impact on the sourcing strategy, through good working relationships with existing and potential third-parties.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to establish category strategies and major sourcing programs, including guiding procurement activities such as e-sourcing, RFx and overall project management.
  • Develop and manage a high-performance sourcing team responsible for supporting relevant supplier-related and sourcing-related functions.
  • Present/update all pertinent supplier and/or industry trends to stakeholders and immediate management and proposing improvements to existing strategies.
Role Requirements
  • Experience leading key negotiations and leading large-scale or enterprise sourcing activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, including cross-functional leadership and organizational skills, in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Comfortable in addressing strategic supplier relationships and developing strategies that look to reduce overall cost or risk.
  • Five or more years in sourcing and/or procurement and/or vendor management is expected, with at least four to five years as a sourcing or category manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a well-conceptualized, well-socialized and well-executed sourcing strategy.
  • Outsourcing (including business process outsourcing) or digital business experience is an advantage.
  • A broad understanding of supply market trends and their potential implications to the business.
  • A bachelor's degree in business or other management discipline, such as supply chain management or certification by purchasing and supply chain professional bodies, such as the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
  • Current knowledge of the global product and service market and its trends.
  • Knowledge of the sources of data and analytics to support the development and execution of sourcing strategies.
  • Strong ability to translate stakeholder requirements into sourcing practices and business outcomes.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $99,705 - $149,500 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
