Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing

Position Overview

The incumbent will own several product categories and within those categories be in charge of sourcing strategic vendors and managing the relationship to drive business results in the areas of cost, quality, service, and flexibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Achieve lowest delivered cost on all items by understanding costs drivers and building a network of alternate suppliers.
• Develop and review standard cost of goods with Finance and Marketing.
• Support cross functional team in resolving any obstacles or issues with vendors (supply planning, R&D, quality, etc.)
• Develop/maintain database containing key information for all vendors-including MSA’s, Skus, pricing (broken down into key components), AQLs, etc.
• Negotiate/enforce contracts, determine pricing systems, analyze sourcing alternatives
• Support marketing and R&D with sourcing new and alternate production facilities for both new and existing products
• Own the full end to end management of sourcing suppliers and co-mans to commercialize new skus and categories.
• Project management of initial production setup of both new co-packers and new products.
• Partner with suppliers to bring a continuous improvement mentality and strategy to reduce cost and improve quality.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize our vendor network.
• Assists with other projects, as needed.
• Prepare annual budgets for assigned co-manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• Operations experience in a food or Consumer Products Manufacturing background
• Initiative-taking and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
• Excellent Relationship Building Skills
• Ability to understand/relate to all other functional areas within company (R&D, Sales, Marketing, & Finance)
• Strong strategic planning and tactical decision-making skills.
• Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain Management or other technical degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of Vendors / Co Packers in Meat/Chicken highly preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
• Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent Negotiation Skills
• Project Management experience
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadline with strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
• Minimum five years’ experience in managing 3rd party manufacturers and/or suppliers, or related role.
• Role requires approximately 15% - 20% travel.
• Financial Acumen and Background in developing costing models or Cost of Goods
• Knowledge of Vendors / Co Packers in Bread, Snacks, Cheese, Appetizers also a plus
• Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
• APICS certification a plus or PMP certification a plus
