/Summary:
This position will oversee three key scopes of work: (1) direct and oversee the delivery of clinical trainings for internal and community based service providers, particularly those who work with clients in the Child Welfare System; (2) set the vision and manage the implementation of the Behavioral Health clinical internship program; and (3) identify, deliver, and support the implementation and training of best clinical practices and interventions for children, youth and their families who access behavioral health services across HCN..
Essential Functions:
• Sets the vision and coordinates with funders, internal programs, and community providers to plan and implement an annual training with emphasis supporting service providers who work in the Child Welfare System. In addition, aligns and coordinates training opportunities and tracking mechanisms to meet training needs for the HCN.
• Ensures trainings meet Continuing Education Units requirements and complies with professional licensing requirements when issuing CEU’s.
• Oversight of programs and contracts delivery, develops grants, contracts, and memorandum of understanding, processes invoices, and compiles data and generates contract reports.
• Maintains positive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to advance our training programs, internship placements, and practice improvement efforts.
• Plans, develops and manages the day-to-day operation of the clinical internship program (12 to 15 trainees per year); sets standards and competencies for trainees/interns and ensures performance evaluations and feedback are provided for trainees/interns; recruits, interviews, on-boards trainees/interns; provides clinical supervision and processes groups; and develops strategies to advance towards APA accreditation.
• Trains, coaches and collaborates with clinicians and supervisors to supervise trainees/interns, and implements and supports implementation of best clinical practices.
• Works with Quality Assurance, internal programs, systems (e.g. Child Welfare, Education, Juvenile Justice) and regional partners to implement and support best practices; assess/evaluate programs needs and translate recommendations/feedback into improved practice.
• Leads and participates in grant writing activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Serves as lead in trainings related to Anti Racist practices, Cultural Responsiveness & Accountability, & Diversity, Equity & Inclusion workgroups.
• Performs related duties as required.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Supervises interns and trainees. May supervise administrative staff. Communications Required: Excellent written and verbal communications expected.
Decision-Making Required: Ability to identify appropriate steps and/or analyze alternatives to make business and clinical decisions in assigned areas of responsibility.
Problem-Solving Required:
• Ability to apply clinical supervisory skills to guide and trouble-shoot complex clinical issues. • Strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve and handles multiple competing demands
Financial Responsibilities: Manages Intern and Training budgets and contracts, ensures appropriate spending, invoicing and accounting, and manages contracting related to all training activities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and experience in small and large group presentation/facilitation.
• An established record of excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and willingness to work as a member of a professional team.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and comfort working with data bases and online collaboration files sharing tools.
• Ability to drive or otherwise travel individually to training site locations, universities, and clinical programs.
Technical Knowledge:
• Possess strong clinical experience in working with BIPOC children, youth & families populations. • Knowledge of Title IV-E training & contractual requirements is preferred.
• Be a member of the American Psychological Association and familiar with APA doctoral internship accreditation procedures.
• Familiarity with EPSDT/MediCal service model & compliance requirements.
Minimum Education: Master’s level degree in Social Work, Psychology or Marriage&Family Therapy

- 3 years experience in providing clinical supervision for interns and trainees; and
- experience in coordinating a clinical or training program in Behavioral health.
