To manage and control supplies and services from acquisition to disposition including:
a. Supervising the procurement of all supplies, services and equipment through a centralized purchasing process.
b. Purchasing and stocking supplies to ensure optimal inventory levels while controlling costs
c. Studying and reviewing utilization of material within the institution.
d. Standardizing and evaluating all products, equipment, and services.
e. Collaborate with other departments to determine supply needs and ensure on-time arrival.
f. Monitor supply usage to eliminate expired supplies and optimize order levels
g. Work with the Finance Department to reconcile invoices with suppliers to ensure prompt payment
h. Ensure the Department operates within its approved budget
i. Accepts other duties, as requested by supervisor.
Responsible for the direction, supervision, evaluation, and overall management of the following positions:
a. Supply Chain Assistant
b. Supply Chain Technicians
c. Supply Chain Purchasing
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
1. The Manager of Supply Chain must have a working knowledge of at least the following areas:
a. Business Management
b. Business ethics
c. Management principles
d. Business math
e. Basic personnel administration
f. Expert user of Microsoft Excel and proficient in other Office products
2. An acceptable degree in Business Administration or Finance, or an experiential equivalency with at least five years of experience in supplies, process, and distribution phases of supply chain in the hospital setting is highly desirable.
3. The following skills are required:
a. The ability to complete tasks through, with, and by people.
b. Good communications skills.
c. Effective negotiation skills.
d. Analytical ability.
e. Skilled in following-up on all tasks related to the department.
