What you will do

Serves as a member of the Employee Relations team and is viewed as a global subject matter expert (SME) who is responsible for managing and conducting HR investigations as well as providing counsel and advice to HR leaders and HRBPs on employee relations matters for the employee’s assigned geography/businesses. This position manages a high-volume portfolio of cases across the United States. Works with Employee Relations, to develop, define and deliver the employee relations and HR Investigation strategy and delivery model.

  • Leads and conducts HR investigations for a high-volume portfolio of cases across the US. Including intake processes, investigation planning and interviews, recommendation and determination, and reporting/insights analysis. Communicates and updates status of investigations to relevant managers and HRBPs. Makes recommendations to HRBPs and leadership regarding investigations and employee relations issues.
  • Provides counsel and advice to managers and HRBPs regarding employee relations issues, submits recommendations on addressing employee relations matters and assists with taking steps in response
  • Provides thought partnership to investigators on the team, trains new teammates when needed, and counsels more junior investigators on the employee relations team
  • Builds credibility as an expert by the business and HRBPs to consult and coach on difficult employee relations issue
  • Develops and delivers training to managers, employees and HRBPs. Supports in defining the standards and processes related to employee relations across the US.
  • Create effective investigation management strategies based on experience with and understanding of manufacturing environments
  • Partner with the Sr Director, Employee Relations on the early formation of the team in order to determine the best structure, processes and projects for continuous improvement
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations, and periodically reviews and updates applicable standards, trends and issues affecting the company work environment and policies
  • Serves as main point of contact for client group to review case data, trends and cultural implications with HR and business leadership.
  • Responds to alleged violation of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct through the initiation of appropriate investigation procedures in partnership with Legal, Compliance and local HR teams.
  • Independently manage special projects in addition to other required responsibilities
  • Maintains an understanding of Stryker’s business, including growth, trends and evolving dynamics, in order to provide strategies and recommendations to advance the culture and business in meaningful and impactful ways
  • Provides coaching to HRBPs on employee relations matters in addition to work environment matters
  • Coordinates with compliance and legal regarding employee discipline for compliance investigations that are not work environment matters. May also assist in these investigations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to independently manage a large case load, solve unique problems and navigate the business through complex situations with expert advice and a calm demeanor
  • Analyzes HR investigations, employee relations and other data trends to address and mitigate risk and support and drive our culture of integrity. Partners with HR and managers to drive necessary improvements.

What you need

  • Previous HR or role-related experience required
  • 4+ years business-facing HR, HR COE, HR Operations, or role-related experience preferred
  • 8+ years of work experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

$95,000 to $140,000 salary plus bonus eligible + Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401k, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Wellbeing Program, Employee Stock Purchase Program). This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
