Job Summary

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students with the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters while actively attending classes at LCC.


Student employees in Student Affairs Department's primary purpose is to provide current LCC students with the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters while actively attending classes at LCC. The role of the Starzone Student Employee is to provide excellent customer service in person, by email, phone, and assist with various clerical duties within the Student Affairs Division. The Starzone Student Employee reports to an administrator in the specific office to which they are assigned and assists with division initiatives. These include, but are not limited to: student recruitment and retention, program promotion, and industry partner communications and events. Specific duties include: assisting customers/students who walk into the office with inquiries, answering phones, routing calls, fulfilling information requests, making calls to current/potential students, assisting with group visits, and assisting the Enrollment Support Specialist with projects as requested/assigned.


Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.


Required Qualifications


The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:


  • Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
  • Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester
  • Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
  • 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)


Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS):


  • Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period)
  • Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)
